Our finance department based in Manchester is currently recruiting an experienced General Manager of Finance to support the regional business. What the role is:
The primary focus for the Regional General Manager of finance is to head up the Regional divisional finance section. Working alongside both the finance and divisional Operations Director, your role is required to provide financial guidance and support in order to make informed business decisions now and for the future.
What you’ll be doing will include:
- Provide all necessary financial guidance and support to the Finance Director and Divisional Operations Director
- Lead monthly finance reviews with the Divisional Operations and Alpha LSG Finance Director
- Provide flash, budgets and forecast on a timely basis with clear analysis
- Ensure the Regional P&L and Balance Sheet accounts are signed off and challenged each month end and that they reflect a true and accurate picture, in line with specific deadlines
- Analyse change impacts and advise/ escalate accordingly (i.e. Brexit etc.)
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities and ensure tracking is reported accurately and on time
- Review all regional Capex requests and documents, providing necessary challenge before the requests are submitted for top level approval
- Continually support the improvements in process and control
- Manage and support the business partner team effectively ensuring they are fully motivated
- Support and challenge commercial as and when required
- Constantly look at ways of improving the EBIT and discuss these with senior management to push forwards
- Ensure airlines are billed accurately and in a timely manner
- Ensure all local Statistics are signed off, accurate and understood
What you’ll have will include:
- Hold a professional Qualification in either ACCA, CIMA or ACA
- Previous Financial and Operational Management experience
- Experience of improving process (e.g. budget / month end) and the control environment
- Be commercially astute with a commercial awareness and willingness to challenge
- Able to put across opinion where finance input is required
- Previous experience of heading up a small team of professionals
- Strong management accounting and analytical skills are essential
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to work under own initiative
