Reporting to the Group Reporting Manager, you will play a key role in the provision of accurate accounting and reporting for all entities

What you'll be doing

• A significant role in the month end process, including ownership of specific areas of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.
• Calculating and posting journals for various accruals and prepayments in key areas of the UK and International business.
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations including identifying and following up on reconciling items
• Investigate and prepare narrative explaining variances to budget and prior year for key expense categories
• Support the annual financial planning and budgeting process as required.
• Responsibility for filing of overseas VAT returns, Intrastat and EC sales listings.
• Support the Group Reporting Manager with the annual audit process.
• Identify opportunities to continuously improve financial systems and processes and implement these changes.
• Produce ad-hoc reports to communicate financial performance to management with recommendations.
• Ongoing non business as usual project work within the finance team as and when required.

We would love to meet someone with:

• Part-qualified in a recognized accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent). If part qualified you must have passed all “F” papers in ACCA or a minimum of 7 exam passes in CIMA
• Minimum of two years accounting experience in a commercial environment. Retail experience highly advantageous
• Advanced excel skills
• Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, to prioritise work load and deliver accurate information on time to a high standard
• A proactive individual who takes ownership of their tasks
• Open, friendly person who is keen to develop and work as part of a team
