An exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant has arisen to join a fast paced international group of companies, dedicated to the provision of high-end catering services to Formula 1, Private Jet Aviation, Retail and High-end Domestic & International Events.

Purpose of the Role:

The successful candidate would be responsible for the accuracy and efficiency of all financial transactions, all financial and external reporting and ensuring that existing controls are enforced effectively and developed were necessary.

The ideal candidate will be a bright, enthusiastic and personable individual who has a flexible approach to work and is happy to take on new tasks as required. A technically astute accountant, excellent communication skills and great attention to detail are essential attributes.

 

Summary of Specific Tasks:

  • Ensuring all daily, weekly and monthly accounting processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner by the finance department.
  • Producing timely, accurate and effective month end accounts for review in conjunction with the Financial Controller.
  • Working with the Financial Controller to develop the existing short, medium and long term cashflow forecasting tools.
  • Ensuring all monthly reporting deadlines, including intercompany balances are achieved.
  • Reconciling and releasing, as appropriate, costs and income from various balance sheet control accounts such as prepayments, WIP and deferred income.
  • Ensuring all audit and other 3rd party requirements including tax and VAT are met to the highest standards.
  • Reconciling company fixed assets and preparing monthly depreciation journal
  • Support the FD with ongoing process control improvements and ensure the delivery, accuracy and efficiency of the Fourth Hospitality system.
  • Ensuring bank reconciliations are accurate and up-to-date for all company accounts
  • Management and development of two finance assistants to ensure the effective operation of both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable including debtor and creditor management.
  • Reviewing and posting of monthly stock journals, including transfers, for all company sites.
  • Responsibility for the management of and provision of all information to the outsourced payroll provider and the subsequent reconciliation of control accounts and HMRC reporting requirements.
  • Introduction of more formalised procedures across the organisation with specific regard to debtors, credit cards and petty cash
  • Ad hoc duties as required.

  • A technically strong, nearly or newly qualified accountant.
  • A hard-working, can do attitude.
  • The influencing skills to implement and enforce controls in a creative business.
  • Presentable and personable – the candidate must be able to converse with staff of all levels including OEM Directors and senior management.
  • Ability to multi task and be flexible whilst maintaining the highest levels of accuracy
  • Ability to prioritise workload in order to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Candidate must be prepared to ‘muck in’ and to help fellow team members.
