Detailed Job Description

The Financial Controller will take day to day responsibility for the financial accounting function within the UK site and be the “go to” person for all technical accounting issues.

Your primary accountabilities;

  • Managing the UK/Ireland Finance team including setting goals and objectives of staff
  • Operational tasks including ledger entries & reconciliations
  • Oversee annual statutory accounts preparation for the UK entities
  • Provide the accounting information for covenant reporting requirements
  • Review and validate Gross Margin reporting
  • Coordinate data included in provide monthly departmental reports for the management team and compile variance analysis for Senior Management
  • Monthly and weekly cash flow management based on actuals and the short term cash requirements
  • Act as the key contact concerning the transmission of any financial or miscellaneous information required for Group quarterly financial statements and other external reporting requirements for UK/Ireland companies
  • Manage Treasury functions including maintaining banking relationships
  • Daily management of validating and payment of invoices
  • Daily management of validating and payment of commissions
  • Manage Chart of Accounts
  • Maintaining systems and controls to ensure adequate documentation and audit trails
  • Implement integrations between operational and finance systems
  • Key point of contact for auditors as part of quarterly reviews and annual audit

Candidate's Profile

You will be a qualified Accountant with good knowledge of IFRS and Microsoft solutions. You will have a collaborative and mature outlook and be comfortable working with senior stakeholders in different regions. You will have strong reporting skills and proven ability to deliver under tight deadlines and balance multiple objectives. You will have a natural instinct to present solutions to issues that arise. You will also have excellent technical knowledge of developments in financial reporting, as well as strong financial systems skills. Above all, you will be an experienced and ‘hands on' FC that can demonstrate detail and deadline orientated and will be actively seeking a visible role in a fast-paced business in which to further your career. Good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills are essential as is the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels.
