Our client is a successful, contemporary, independent financial services organisation in the heart of the Midlands.  We are looking for an experienced Finance Director to play a lead role in all aspects of the running of the organisation, bringing fresh thinking and appropriate challenge to the Board, contributing to the strategy, growth and future success of the business.   This is a high profile role within the organisation with significant direct/indirect influence across the wider business.  Reporting to the Chief Executive, the post holder’s remit is to deliver responsive, business-orientated financial analysis to the Board and CEO, providing accurate, timely and transparent financial information and interpretation of that information to support effective business decision-making, and to meet statutory requirements.  The Finance Director will be responsible for all of the organisation’s Prudential regulatory reporting; additionally you will sit as a Member on the Assets and Liabilities Committee.

We seek an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified Accountant with a progressive career gained within an accountancy firm (Big4/Top Tier) and/or financial services business.  You will have a thorough understanding of the financial services environment; in particular a detailed understanding of credit and treasury risk matters would be highly advantageous.  Experience of working at a Director/Board level exercising a breadth of functional leadership and strategic insight beyond purely the finance function is desirable. Technical knowledge of the regulatory environment is paramount.  Strong communications skills are a pre-requisite as is the ability to build effective shareholder and stakeholder relationships. Candidates will demonstrate a collegiate and collaborative leadership style and able to balance business acumen with a passion for the customer.

This role falls under the scope of the Senior Manager Regime and is a Senior Management Function (SMF), and as such will be subject to PRA/FCA approval requiring individuals to undergo a Significant Influence Functions (SIF) interview.
