SG Gaming, the UK division of NASDAQ quoted Scientific Games Corporation, is one of the UK’s leading providers of gaming solutions for the retail market. We are seeking a technically skilled accountant to take up the position of Financial Controller within a finance team of 23, where you will be responsible for the timeliness and quality of all statutory and management accounting outputs.

Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will be tasked with closing the books each month as well as handling all internal and external financial reporting. You will deliver a vision of financial reporting which aligns the outputs of the finance team to the commercial activities of the business, working closely with commercial finance colleagues to ensure financial process and reporting efficiencies are maximised.

The role offers a mix of management and technical accounting along with commercial finance support to operational teams. Finance department stakeholders include; UK MD and divisional operations teams, external and internal audit, US corporate finance and the FD.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Applications from all qualified accountants are welcome, with preference given in the first instance to candidates with strong technical backgrounds, proven line management skills and a working knowledge of US GAAP, having worked in a Financial Controller capacity before.

• Solid experience of monthly reporting and preparing management accounts within a complex multi-entity business.
• Experience of staff management, including team development.
• Understanding of best practice in setting and enforcing control environments.
• Manufacturing accounting expertise, with a thorough understanding of the challenges of inventory and fixed asset tracking would be a benefit
• Recent hands-on frequent use of a complex ERP system such as Oracle or SAP.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and the SEC reporting process.
• Cashflow and Balance sheet controls

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide the team to achieve accurate and rapid financial close each month end.
• Be a source of technical accounting expertise.
• Lead audit and statutory accounts and VAT filings
• Ensure finance projects are delivered to key milestones
• Use your coaching abilities to upskill the team.
• Be financial leader in our Manchester office.
