Under the direction of the Head of Finance, the Financial Controller leads the effective financial planning and management of the charity and contributes where appropriate to financial discussions and work affecting International Headquarters worldwide.
The Financial Controller works closely with the Head of Finance and other Heads of Unit across the organisation to help deliver its vision and ensure that its financial affairs are managed professionally. The role is responsible for ensuring high-quality financial reporting for the charity and its subsidiary both internally and externally, ensuring regulatory compliance (Charity Commission, Companies House, HMRC etc.) and the provision of effective finance support to budget-holders.
The role will also play a key part in redesigning the organisational Chart of Accounts, redefining processes and constantly striving for more efficient ways of working.
The Unit works to enhance the decision making process of the Management Board and Trustees; to ensure that the charity and its subsidiaries comply with all statutory and external requirements and regulations and to help the organisation deliver its business strategy.
