Our client, an established multinational financial services business based in Birmingham is seeking an Assistant Financial Accountant to join the team. The purpose of the role would To provide financial accounting support to the financial accountant and the department specifically in the areas of balance sheet review and control, shareholder reporting and statutory disclosure. The organisation would provide full study support and an excellent package.
Responsibilities Include:
* Responsibility for assisting Financial Accountant on all aspects of financial control within the group of companies.
* Responsibility for all aspects of Fixed Asset control within the company and its associated entities:
o To assist in the production of budgets, forecast and long range planning from a capital expenditure perspective.
o To keep accurate records of all fixed assets additions and disposals on all company entities.
o To maintain & control the capital expenditure procedure; to report against budget and forecast costs for each capital expenditure request on a monthly basis.
o To maintain the fixed asset ledger and be responsible for all accounting system postings.
o Reconcile the fixed asset ledger to accounting system on a monthly basis.
* Responsible for reconciling all inter-company balances in all entities for shareholder reporting.
* Assistance in the monthly production of the group of companies' balance sheets and associated balance sheet reconciliation's including the review of the entire balance sheet on a monthly basis.
* Responsible for the co-ordination the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process. Ensure all reconciliations are complete by the reporting deadline.
* Responsibility to assist with the accounting analysis of the group of companies and ensure compliance with IFRS and FRS 101 accounting standards and group policies.
The ideal Candidate would have the following:
* Relevant degree graduate or equivalent with 1 or 2 years commercial experience
* Part Qualified Accountant (Desirable)
* Advanced Excel skills
