Financial Controller (French speaking)

A fantastic opportunity for a French speaking Financial Controller, to join this dynamic business, on a fixed term contract basis, and based in Hertfordshire.

A global leading Business Services company in Hatfield are seeking an interim Financial Controller on a fixed term basis. Reporting to, and supporting the Director of Technical Accounting, this role is responsible primarily, for the control, accounting and reporting under local GAAP for the French and other European subsidiaries.

Key Financial Controller responsibilities will include:

• Responsibility for all local compliance returns and subsidiary external reporting requirements for France.
• Management of the local French audit.
• Management of the audit contract and key point of contact for the audit client in France
• Identifying French GAAP rules and calculating these differences monthly
• Review and design of the dual GAAP ledgers
• Business partnering with local France managers and statutory support for customer bids

The role encompasses a wide range of activities including ensuring that all local statutory compliance obligations are met in an efficient and timely manner.

Your characteristics:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA) or overseas equivalent
• Strong Technical / audit experience
• Fluent French speaker
• Commercial astute
• Advanced excel skills
• SAP literate
• Technically minded and aware of commercial considerations in business decisions
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• Technical financial system knowledge
• Excellent organisation skills and multitasking abilities
