Project Finance Controls Manager
9 month fixed term contract
£60-£65K + Bens
An urgent requirement for a Project Finance Controls Manager for a leading FTSE 100 Retailer based in Bedfordshire. We are seeking and immediately available and experienced candidate for a 9 month fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
-Develop a best in class control environment that supports the accounting centre to deliver a Financial and reporting capability.
-Work with the accounting centre & the Finance Shared Service Centre (SSC) to drive process improvement, process engineering and ensuring workarounds are eliminated from end to end processes
-Tracking of action plans for control deficiencies identified by Internal Audit, Retail Audit and the Financial Controls Framework, rolling out training and providing guidance to the business, embedding internal controls and undertaking ad hoc tasks or projects, as required
-Ensure timely and full implementation of recommended control improvements; maintain and report on the effectiveness of, and compliance with Policies and Procedures
-Identify and document key business processes, risks and controls (including a review of the Shared Service Centre)
-Identify and communicate best practices which improve the efficiency and effectiveness of those controls.
-Ensure controls are embedded within all new projects
-Support the overall Vision on Financial controls to improve the operation and design of controls and champion the value that controls gives across the business
The successful candidate will have:
-Excellent academics
-Qualified accountant (CIMA /ACCA /ACA)
-Deep understanding of the core principles of end to end financial processes
-Project management
-Driving process change / improvements
-Risk processes and Frameworks
-A broad understanding of business processes, evaluating risks and designing and implementing controls
