The opportunity to Join one of the UK's largest, successful and popular restaurant group's has arisen for a Reporting Accountant for the UK entity of the business. This role offers brilliant development growth and plans along with exposure to work for a largely successful company which in turn offers great exposure to how successful large scale finance functions operate commercially.

The role requires the production of timely and accurate information in accordance with a monthly, quarterly and annual timetable including period end accounts for the management team along with but not limited to:

  • Period end accounting, accruals, prepayments, production and reconciliation for management accountants for assigned accounts.
  • Investigate and ensure integrity of balances, monthly balance sheet review with senior finance team.
  • Accountable for preparing balance sheets reconciliations and supporting documentation for the general ledger codes for which responsible.
  • Liaising with various departments in the business and answering queries.
  • Improve and streamline period end processes and procedures to ensure assigned accounts are accurate and reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Involvement in the development of finance policies and procedures and period end processes on JDE.
  • Assist external auditors with interim and year-end audits.
  • Analysis of key variances and balances where required.

A key aspect of this role is to deliver regular communication and information to and also in between internal departments and teams both of a finance and non finance basis. A list of just a few of these departments and teams would include:

  • Management Accounts
  • PE Operations
  • IT ERP team
  • Other Finance Operations teams

What will be essential for this role:


  • CIMA/ACCA Part Qualified
  • The candidate should be a self-starter, who is willing and able to take initiative
  • Analytical
  • Microsoft e.g. Excel, Word
  • Experience of accounting system e.g. JDE / SAP
  • Desire to learn new skills/systems for example TM1 & Cognos
  • Strong Team player
  • Good Excel skills Good organisation and time management skills in order to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, and willingness to liaise with different departments across the business
  • Strong attention to detail,
  • Sound financial accounting skills
  • Ability to drill down on data and solve problems
