This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join this start up sports business in a Head of Finance Role covering for maternity leave. They are looking for someone to join in August until October 2018.
As Head of Finance for this amazing new sports concept you'll be responsible for the financial management of the business based both in the UK and the US; taking particular responsibility for the financial controls and reporting. You will provide input and support to senior management on strategic and commercial matters and will play a key role in the management of the UK business.
Key Responsibilities
Finance
- Oversight of day-to-day finance operations including maintenance of the general ledger, smooth transaction processing and cash management for the business.
- Management of the financial accountant.
- Preparation of the annual budget and quarterly reforecasts, including presentation to the Board for approval and management throughout the year in close liaison with budget holders.
- Cashflow management and forecasting, including management of internal funding process
- Financial Reporting:
- Monthly management accounts for the group
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts for all companies and year end reporting
- Audit management
- Tax compliance, including preparation of VAT returns and liaison with tax agents
Strategy
- Contribution to the development of the business strategy including: revenue generation, diversification of income streams, business planning and modelling, risk assessment and the setting and monitoring of short, medium and long-term financial and operational objectives
- Support and initiate (where required) special development projects for business expansion in line with Company Strategy
- Support the management of various projects and process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the business
- Oversight of development, implementation, and monitoring for the business consumer financial policies (e.g. refunds, credits, etc.)
The successful candidate will be :
- Chartered Accountant
- 7+ years' post-qualified experience, including at least 5 years' commercial industry experience
- Experience in a Start Up environment is preferred
- Experience financial reporting including statutory and management reporting
- Degree qualified, or equivalent
- Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS
- Good knowledge of UK statutory obligations
- Competency using Microsoft Dynamics NAV is preferred but not essential
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A passion for health and fitness is a plus!
