Financial Controller

Financial Controller position, based in Coventry, for a growing Retail business - Salary £50,000 plus benefits.

Hays Senior Finance are working in partnership with this growing, dynamic retail business with stores throughout the UK. This SME has a very friendly and fast paced culture, and there is a great opportunity to join the business as Financial Controller, reporting into the Financial Director.

Your new role
As Financial Controller, you will be working very closely with the FD, you will be responsible for management accounting, cashflow forecasting and budgeting. A key focus of this role will be cost control and alongside this, you will help work on process improvement. You will be managing a small, on site finance team. You will also be responsible for the management accounts at consolidated and store level, profit and loss, balance sheet and
reporting, as well as being an integral part of key business decision making.

What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally need to be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with experience in a multi-site industry, preferably retail. Additionally, you will be capable of working under pressure, alongside being able to demonstrate the ability to interact with and influence people throughout the organisation. You will have a high degree of technical competence in financial reporting and compliance standards and be results focused, driven and have a solution-oriented approach to work with strong management skills, being able to lead by example.
