Finance Analyst
Based in Luton, Bedfordshire, our client, a world renowned travel business, is looking for an immediately available part or fully qualified accountant to join them as a Finance Analyst on an interim basis for 3-4 months at least. The position is to start asap.
This job would suit a CIMA/ ACA/ ACCA part or fully qualified analyst or business partner to be responsible for providing financial support to the commercial team including and supporting strategic planning exercises across the business.
The company is a highly successful leader in their market having following a targeted strategy over recent times that has grown both top line revenue and bottom line profit. This requirement has materialised due to increased activity and the need for a spare pair of hands to help with the planning process.
The successful individual will be CIMA / ACCA / ACA part or fully qualified with experience of having worked in a financial analyst or finance business partnering role. The candidate should have strong interpersonal and presentation skills with an advanced knowledge of excel due to the role needing to manipulate and analyse large amounts of data within the financial models used for financial planning.
Duties will include:
- Support the month end process working closely with the management accounting team in the production and analysis of budget holder P&Ls including variance analysis and commentary
- Monthly P&L reviews with key budget holders in the commercial team, feeding back relevant risks and opportunities
- Maintaining and reviewing the marketing spend tracker, and completing monthly reconciliations of marketing spend.
- Supporting the commercial team with financial queries regarding past and future spend
- Supporting the business in the production of long and short term strategic planning
- Building excel based input models to support the planning process
