An exciting new opportunity to join a leading Insurer based in London providing support to the Financial Accounting Manager and assist the Finance Team in the processing, recording, analysis and reconciliation of financial information. This role supports the Financial Accounting Manager in the daily management of the team responsible for processing transactions and controlling the outputs.
You will primarily be responsibility for ensuring that the internal and external monthly, quarterly and annual controls are complete, accurate and timely.
Daily processing
Assisting the Finance Team in their daily activities, reviewing their outputs and providing support when required.
Monthly and quarterly internal reporting
Ensuring the ledger is fully reconciled and differences are explained. Prepare monthly Group Submission template. Assist with the preparation of the monthly audit file. Review work prepared by the team for inclusion into returns.
Projects and process improvements
To be an active participant in projects (i.e System Integration) and to be a key stakeholder in any future process improvements.
People management
Manage the performance and development of the team ensuring high performance is maintained.
Controls
Ensure an appropriate system of internal controls is maintained and documented, including identification and implementation of additional appropriate controls as may be required given the changing environment.
Key Competencies:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA,CIMA) with 3+ years post qualified experience.
- Excellent technical insurance accounting knowledge (UK GAAP and IFRS).
- Strong appreciation of financial processes, systems and controls.
- Previous Insurance experience is essential
