Financial Controller

Our client is an innovative, international sports media business which is backed by private investors. They are now seeking a hands-on, commercially aware finance professional to join the team and report directly to the Head of Finance. This role will primarily focus on commercial and technical support to the production and distribution teams and will ensure the revenue process is financially managed and business opportunities are maximised. They will also be fully responsible for the implementation and maintenance of robust financial controls, systems and processes to support on-going growth.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Development & maintenance of pricing models for existing and new products including rate cards.
• Liaison with the business managers to amalgamate different quotes for blended products.
• Working with Commercial, Production and Distribution teams to ensure pricing is robust and presented in a value basis to clients.
• Review and management of commercial contracts including tax & IP implications.
• Providing analysis and interpretation of financial data to support decision making.
• Reporting of the Global Weekly Sales Pipeline.
• Monthly accounting for Revenue and Cost of Sales.
• Allocation of employee time to jobs.
• Monthly Job profitability reporting against targets including variance analysis and full job forecasting.
• Debtor Management including invoicing, payment and forex implications.
• Development of processes to ensure internal controls are maximized and process efficiencies improved.
• Budgeting & Forecasting
• Business Partner to the UK business and key contact for New York office.
• Job cover/Back up for wider finance team.
• Other tasks as required as part of the Finance Team.
• Analysis as required.

The ideal candidate will be fully qualified with demonstrable experience of providing commercial financial support to senior stakeholders in a growing, fast-paced business. Ideally the new Commercial Finance Manager will come from a media / technology background and will understand the key drivers in such businesses. They will have strong technical skills underpinning their commercial abilities and will be an effective communicator at all levels.
