Group Financial Controller

We are searching for a Group Financial Controller to join a group of companies based in Finchley, North London.  The companies operate warehousing and distribution of building products.  The company has recently appointed a new CFO who, amongst other things, is keen to improve the quality of accounting to enable better control and analysis.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Financial professional to develop their career.  The role reports directly to the CFO.

What your main responsibilities will be:

The main requirements of the role centre around the following areas:

·         Management of a small team.
·         Strategic business partnering with the CFO, COO and MD
·         Overseeing the monthly reporting of consolidated accounts.
·         Understanding complex accounting matters as required.
·         Overall responsibility for the preparation of group consolidated statutory accounts.
·         Key contact point for external audit.
·         Driving change in controls and processes.
·         Multi-tasking in a growing business where the development of more junior staff is very important.
·         Putting together monthly Management Accounts

·         Demonstrable experience in leadership
·         Resilience to pressure

You must be a fully qualified accountant with a number of years’ post-qualification experience.
