Director of UK Accounting

Our client, an international PE backed multi-site business, is now looking to strengthen its finance function with the recruitment of a new Director of UK Accounting.  Managing a team of 45, this is a newly created role reporting to the Group CFO.   Having overall responsibility for the delivery of the Accounts to the Group Financial Controller (profit and loss and balance sheet), the successful candidate will also ensure maintenance of the highest level of standards and controls within the UK function. 

Key duties

• Ensure processes and systems are fit for purpose and to protect, maintain and develop the function as the business grows
• Deliver accurate and timely Accounts to the Group FC for all companies in the UK to required timescales
• Working with the CFO and Non-UK Director to design and implement a new global payroll platform
• Integration of all newly acquired companies
• Timely and accurate delivery and completion of the Completion Accounts
• Working with the Group FC to ensure tax compliance in the UK
• Delivery of year-end accounts to Group FC
• Working with the Non UK Finance team to develop process to drive efficiency
• Overall owner of the finance system

Profile

Holding a formal accounting qualification, the successful candidate for this role will be strong academically and intellectually, and must have a demonstrable track record in all of the above key areas, especially delivery of accounts to a very high standard in a challenging high growth environment.  Self-awareness and personal robustness are important character traits for the person joining in this role.
