Finance Business Partner/Commercial Management Accountant

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded £900m t/o Distribution Business and a top 3 Global Leader in its field. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance in a highly visible role with interaction with all of the senior management team and budget holders, with a remit of providing effective financial, analytical and business support. Key responsibilities include:

• Reporting to the Head of Finance, with day-to day business partnering with the Operations teams
• Providing control over and insight into operational costs, stock etc.
• Building robust and effective partnerships rand relationships with all senior operational managers and their teams
• Playing a key role in supporting Operations decision making.
• Driving commercial improvements throughout the business
• Improving Operational teams financial awareness on the impact of their actions and a thorough understanding of financial reporting
• Working to pro-actively seek opportunities to reduce the Operations cost base
• Working with operations managers to identify areas where improvements can be made
• Working to a common goal of driving optimum financial performance
• Providing commercial and analytical support, as required, for any operational projects, process changes and investment appraisals
• Attending all Operational weekly and project meetings, taking the responsibility for actioning any finance related points
• Full responsibility for any regular or ad hoc MI production for use by Operations
• Pro-actively investigating variances to identify root causes and to pro-actively work with operations teams to ensure corrective action
• Working closely with the Management Accounts team to ensure that company forecasts and budgets reflect the Operational departments plans
• Supporting the month end and Statutory Accounts preparation processes as required, with a particular emphasis on stock accounting
• Providing analysis and delivering insights that links financial reports to business strategies

Applicants will be fully qualified CIMA, ACA or ACCA Finance Business Partners/Commercial Management Accountants with a minimum of 3 years Post Qualified experience in a similar profile role. Experience of distribution, stock control, purchasing and/or the pharmaceutical industry would be an advantage as would SAP experience. You will be familiar with working to the highest levels of professionalism and integrity and will have the persona and gravitas required to insightfully communicate at all levels with credibility and impact. You will also be pragmatic and adaptable outlook, with the ability to embrace change. This is an excellent opportunity for commercially focussed Qualified Accountant to take a highly visible finance role which will touch all areas of the business. Salary to £48,450 salary plus £5,000 bonus, BUPA and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
