Nottingham

  • Tramlink Nottingham is a project company set up to deliver the new tram network
  • This is a leadership role with high levels of autonomy and responsibility

Details about the Client

Nottingham City Council awarded a contract to design, build, operate and maintain the tram expansion project in Nottingham to Tramlink Nottingham in 2011. The fully expanded network became operational in 2015 and Nottingham can now boast a tram network as part of an integrated public transport system to enhance the City's international reputation.

The new project enhances the network with the addition of 17.5km of new track and two major new park and ride sites, the provision of 22 new trams along with improved service frequencies and the introduction of new smartcard ticketing technology. The original system attracted some 8 million passenger journeys each year and, as they build in popularity, the new lines are expected to more than double that number.
