Assistant Accountant

My client, a highly successful and recognised organisation, is looking for an organised, analytical and driven individual to ensure the production and analysis of insightful management information. Working within a fast paced environment at the company's Head Office located in Liverpool, you will be responsible for building effective relationships across the business identifying areas of opportunity to be more cost effective and maximise profitability.

Reporting to the Finance Manager and wider team, responsibilities will include:

• Proactively building key relationships and acting as a business partner across the business ensuring transparency and a thorough understanding of the cost base
• Delivering insightful, effective and timely financial information to ensure peoples understanding of the key drivers of cost
• Challenging costs and identifying areas of opportunity to be more cost effective and maximise profitability and assisting with rolling these ideas out to the business
• Accurately accounting for costs associated with specific areas of the business in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Cost forecasting, both short and long term
• Performing variance analysis in order to understand and explain why costs have out-turned differently to budget/prior year and follow through on any actions in order to mitigate impacts on the financial years profitability.

Applicants should be committed in studying towards CIMA qualification and have experience of working in a similar role within in a fast moving, high volume, multi-site business.
