Our client is a high growth, private equity backed retail business based in the Midlands. The business is looking to strengthen its Board by hiring a commercially focused and strategic CFO/COO. As a key member of the management team, the broad role is responsible for overseeing Finance and Operations, with a key remit to lead on digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities;
- Inform and influence decision-making as part of the Board, challenging when necessary and helping both develop and implement robust forward strategies for the company.
- Provide detailed insight and analysis to generate effective financial plans
- Develop and provide regular and insightful management accounts, forecasts, analysis and commentary to the Board
- Ensure there is an environment of strong financial control and balance sheet integrity
- Lead on all investments and acquisitions.
- Effective management of cash-flow including forecasting and analysis and expense management.
- Lead on Digital Transformation.
- Develop and optimise accounting, process and controls and lead on IT & systems across the organisation.
- Manage, mentor and develop the finance function.
- Lead the company’s relationship with its auditors
- Manage banking relationships.
- Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced
Candidate Background;
- Proven and experienced CFO who must have a background in Private Equity and Retail.
- Extensive Digital Transformation experience.
- Qualified Chartered accountant (ACA or equivalent), with sound technical skills
- Highly motivated individual with an energetic, hands-on approach to business
- Commercial and strategic mindset with the ability to work outside the traditional confines of finance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and interact both at the board level and with the wider company
- Strong banking relationships and M&A experience.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
