Financial Controller

A rising star in the Media Technology / Music Services and big data sector, that supply a range of services and data to the Music Industry, are looking for a Financial Controller to set up and run a finance function within this growing, dynamic business. Reporting to the CEO and COO - you will be responsible for managing and implementing a full financial function and service to the business, building upon what's already been put in place, implementing a robust structure, new procedures and processes and helping to drive this business forward through the provision of sound financial planning, budgeting and cost control.

This position requires a Qualified Financial Controller with experience of working in SME's where you have been very hands on at first, implementing controls, procedures and processes and advising heads of businesses on strategy, financial planning and forecasting to aid with decision making processes. Contributing to contractual negotiations and deal appraisals and ensuring the groups monthly and annual reporting is accurate and provided on time in line with internal and external requirements.

At first this will be a very hands on role, doing everything from the bottom up within finance and providing the business with timely cash flows, budgets and taking control of all the day to day bookkeeping using their accounting system XERO. You will assess the requirements of the business and if required you will start building a team in line with the growth of the business.

You are a qualified accountant with a minimum of circa 5 years PQE, ideally with Media Industry or Tech/Data sector experience. A strong technical accountant with excellent commercial accounting and business experience, having experience of working in owner managed business, where you have implemented and controlled a small finance department with experience with control of ledgers, cashflows and providing management / financial accounts in a timely fashion.

A commercially minded finance professional with an intuitive grasp of business economics and commercial strategy, with exceptional financial analysis and data interpretation skills for new opportunity / deal evaluations and measurement of financial performance. Excellent financial modelling and MS Excel skills are a necessity as is an outgoing and fun personality, somebody that enjoys being in fast moving businesses with a strong social ethic at its heart.
