This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused accountant to join this international organisation based to the East of York. This expanding organisation employs more than 2600 people in over 30 countries worldwide and has an excellent working culture/environment. They are now looking to recruit a commercially focused Financial Controller to their Management Team in the UK. You will be responsible for all the day to day operational and financial aspects of the UK subsidiary, this includes Finance, Legal, HR, IT, Logistical Operations, facilities and H&S. Reporting into Head Office your duties will include the following;

Preparation of monthly management accounts
Budgeting & forecasting including performance analysis
Bank, petty cash, inter company account & control account reconciliations
Monthly intrastat and EC sales returns for the UK & distribution company
Quarterly VAT returns for two VAT registrations
Annual production of full Audit file
Preparation of annual return
Monthly payroll processing including associated returns and submissions
Annual year end payroll submissions and production of statutory forms
Preparation of 5 year business plan/budget
Reviewing supplier costs
Continually reviewing accounting systems

This is a hands on role with staff management responsibilities. You will be expected to liaise with all appropriate external bodies to ensure compliance and legislative responsibilities are being met. You will have the ability to work to very tight deadlines and therefore the ability to delegate and prioritise tasks is essential. You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least 7 years pqe.

Salary guide £43000 - £50000 plus contributory pension, private health & life cover.
