Accountant

My Client, a well-respected Charitable Organisation, is looking to recruit a Home-Based Accountant in North West England.

Duties will include:

- Providing support to branches & area staff on financial matters. Answering queries from them on financial matters relating to their branch.
- Analysis of Branch Finance information
- Branch visits
- Branch Year End & Statutory Returns
- Contributing to the overall implementation of the Finance team's objectives
- Working closely with the whole Finance team, specifically Divisional Accountants, Branch Treasurers, Branch Committee Officers, Internal & External Auditors
- Supporting delivery of the Society's Corporate Services strategy to deliver the Society's strategic goals by Business Plan implementation and Monitoring & reporting on performance
- Writing articles for the branch committee newsletter
- Involvement in training seminars for Treasurers including presenting, contributing to content and organising training seminars

Experience / Qualifications required:

- Qualified, Part Qualified or Qualified by Experience Accountant. Must have completed at least one paper at Intermediate stage.
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
- Experience of preparing accounts from incomplete records
- Demonstrable experience of providing complex accounting information to non-Finance people
- Demonstrable commitment to inclusive working, ensuring equality & valuing diversity
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a good ability to explain Accounting terminology in a way non-Finance people can understand
- Good Team Player
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of media & audiences
- Excellent IT skills, particularly Advanced Excel
- Understanding of tax & VAT issues facing charities

This role attracts a salary of £31,446 - £35,761 + Benefits.
