Tax Accountant

Elevation Recruitment Group are currently recruiting a Tax Accountant on behalf of a leading firm in Sheffield.

The Central Tax Team are responsible for providing strategic tax advice, implementing tax policies, managing tax risk and ensuring / monitoring adherence to tax compliance obligations internationally.

With exposure to accounting work alongside the core tax duties and a client facing relationship with your clients, this opportunity is a broad and varied role with several interesting challenges providing development opportunities.

Main duties will include:

*Providing a UK tax compliance and advisory service for a portfolio of DLA Piper UK LLP partners
*Budgeting for international tax payments on behalf of the partners
*Preparation of tax reserves
*Involvement in the firm's audit cycle
*Prepare regular technical updates to partners
*Responding to HMRC queries
*UK tax management of secondees
*Day to day management of a portfolio of partners' tax compliance

In addition you will add value to the team by:
*Developing links with key personnel in management accounts
*Providing regular updates of progress
*Supporting the Central Tax Team as and when required
*Attending meetings as and when required and prepare minutes of such meetings

The successful candidate will require the following:

*Knowledge of UK tax practices and legislation and how to apply them
*Knowledge of where to access additional technical advice
*Expertise in working with Excel
*A tax or accounting qualification such as ACCA or CTA
*Combine the skills of a self-starter and the confidence to apply your own initiative with a highly collaborative approach, being a good team player and open communicator
*Adopt a consultative and business partnering approach with the ability to negotiate and persuade
*Spot opportunities to improve process and the experience to apply best practices
*Place value in relationships across the business at all levels and having the skills to develop these
*Collaborate across the team to deliver a high quality, seamless service

You will be commercially astute and dynamic, and able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the technical issues that are key to your clients. You will have strong experience of working within personal tax and should be willing to expand your competencies. Energetic and enthusiastic, you will have the skills, knowledge and attributes to work flexibly within a team in our fast moving and changing environment.
