A Finance Manager opportunity has arisen at a well-known high street retailer in central London. Working specifically within the retail team, this role has a healthy mix of FP&A and commercial finance.

As E-Commerce Finance Manager you will provide commercial financial support to E-commerce teams, leading the forecasting/budgeting process and providing insightful analysis, commentary and challenge on financial performance, highlighting risks and opportunities

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Weekly reporting, Month end, Budgeting, Forecasting

  • Lead the forecast and budget process for Web to ensure high quality financial information, challenged appropriately and delivered in accordance with agreed timetable.
  • Weekly review of web performance and provision of commentary.
  • Review of month end actuals ensuring costs and revenues are accounted for correctly, including CAPEX.
  • Develop and produce month end reporting and analysis explaining key variances to forecast/budget.
  • Produce robust weekly/monthly reports - identify risks and opportunities and highlight to Commercial Finance Manager to ensure appropriate action plans in place to achieve targets.

Channel support and business partnering

  • Partner and communicate effectively with non-finance business contacts to ensure the finance team has a good understanding of web activities and financial impacts.
  • Support the Commercial Manager and business to deliver new reporting streams and analysis on new business areas
  • Identify risks and opportunities and challenge the teams to ensure targets achieved/improve sales and profitability performance.

Investment appraisal and ad-hoc project work

  • Provide support to the Commercial Finance Manager for investment appraisals and ad-hoc project work as required.

To qualify for this position, the successful candidate will have the following:

  • ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualification
  • Experience in forecasting/budgeting for a retail/E-commerce environment
  • Proven ability to drive improvement in financial processes both planning and reporting
  • Strong Excel and systems skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills dealing with finance and non-finance stakeholders
