Finance Director

Our client, a highly profitable and fast growing SME with offices in central London, requires a commercially astute Finance Director to take on a leading role within their fast track organisation. This private equity backed business is a premium consumer brand sold across multiple channels internationally.

The role will be all encompassing. Leading a small finance team, you will be responsible for all aspects of the finance function, from reporting to M&A work. The PE-backers will pursue a buy and build strategy, so candidates need to be detail oriented and willing to get their hands dirty alongside the Managing Director to continue to drive the success of this organisation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

• Setting up a finance function team from scratch, this will include overseeing accounting reporting, systems and processes whilst monitoring all financial aspects of the business.
• Developing and delivering ambitious commercial strategies for the business.
• Demonstrate success in organic growth and M&A and integrations.
• Developing and delivering ambitious commercial strategies for the business
• Establishing relationships internally and externally, including PE investors and overseeing banking relations.

Your contributions and insight as financial number one will be highly valued and relied upon, and you will be expected to represent this perspective at the board level. Therefore, experience in finance for a PE backed company is specifically sought, whether as FD in a small company or as number two who is wanting to take a step up. Time spent in a multi-site wholesale, retail or manufacturing business, would be a significant advantage, in particular experience or success growing a business in a short period of time.

The ideal candidate should be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA), preferably chartered, with a shrewd intellect and strong interpersonal skills.
