The Opportunity

Our client is a private equity backed business services company. This niche business provides services to a wide variety of consumers with an emphasis on the e-commerce sector. A market leader the business has grown organically and by acquisition, experiencing double digit growth.

With recent private equity investment, the Board are looking to appoint a Group Financial Controller to support the CFO in achieving strategy, taking the business to the next stage of growth and development.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ACA with some exposure to the private equity world to lead a team in a newly created role working toward the long term exit plan.

The Role

The role has full responsibility for Group Finance and Finance Operations. There will also be a supporting role to the CFO on wider commercial issues and growth plans. This includes:

• Producing management accounts and KPIs
• Managing the Group’s finance function including consolidations
• Producing cash flows and reporting across the Group. 
• Responsible for the implementation and improvement of financial systems and controls, integration of finance processes
• Provide expertise, experience and potential to the Group team and be able to coordinate the Group function
• Managing a team comprising of 10-12 staff.

This is a hands-on role and would suit someone who enjoys getting into the thick of the business and can also contribute to the overall strategic direction of the business.

It is a high profile role within the Group and will have exposure to all financial and commercial aspects of the business.

The Candidate

The CFO is searching for an energetic and ambitious Group Financial Controller, a self-starter with a strong understanding of systems, people and change management.  Valuable personal qualities will include:

• the ability to motivate and energise a team
• a self-starter with a level of commercial flair
• strong up-to-date technical financial accounting knowledge  
• ability to act a sounding board and provide high quality support to the CFO
• Candidates should be a qualified accountants with a strong technical background, a commercial outlook and well developed team management skills
• You will be highly personable and a credible leader of the finance team, motivated to succeed and develop their career within a fast-paced business environment
• Experience of working in a PE backed business environment will be an advantage.
