FTSE 100 consumer brand based in Central London is looking to hire a high calibre Finance Manager responsible for food logistics.

In this new role you will be responsible for the food logistics operations and supply chain strategy and development. The role business partners the Food Supply Chain & Logistics Director and the Supply Chain & Logistics Leadership team and works closely with third party logistics operators and finance teams. You will be responsible for delivering high value business insight and supporting business change whilst ensuring robust financial control over a cost base of c£0.4bn as well as related supply chain and logistics investments.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Business partnering to the Director of Food Supply Chain and Supply Chain & Logistics Leadership team, to ensure all key decisions / strategies are driving commercial value. Build strong relationships with third party Logistics, the Finance Group and across the wider business
  • Financial management of Supply Chain P&L & balance sheet including contract negotiation and working with procurement to ensure robust commercial decision making and control. Maintain and develop all financial controls to ensure continued compliance to financial policies and procedures.
  • Ownership of quarterly, annual and long range financial plans including internal and external process management, analysis and commentary. Ensure full buy-in and ownership from stakeholders, influencing the setting and delivery of stretching & achievable targets
  • Insightful reporting and analysis of the Logistics cost base including leading regular financial reviews with senior Logistics management and change managers. Provide understanding of key cost drivers and cost to serve in order to challenge and influence commercial decisions taken to improve performance. Identify and communicate risks and opportunities within the business on a continuous basis, driving a no surprise culture through in-depth understanding and great communication
  • Ongoing development and review of reporting / insight / cost management to ensure it is fit for purpose. Understanding and removal of non-value added activity to drive efficiency
  • Evaluate supply chain strategy and logistics investment opportunities. Offer financial expertise, including robust challenge, to ensure stretching but deliverable investment cases are presented for signoff. Governance and reporting of all investments, ensuring financials are accurately tracked and post investment reviews completed with any learnings fed in to future projects
  • Lead, develop and motivate team to support delivery of all agreed objectives in a way that is aligned to corporate values.
