Head of Financial Accounts

SF Group are recruiting an Interim Head of Finance for our West Midlands based NHS Trust client. This is a maternity cover post and will have a duration of 12 - 16 months. Our client requires a qualified accountant with extensive technical NHS accounting experience who has proven hands on ability. Whilst this position is due to commence in September 2017, our client is keen to start meeting candidates ASAP. You key responsibilities will include:

• Responsibility for ensuring that income, expenditure and cash book entries are recorded and coded correctly in the Trust's General Ledger
• Ensure procedures are in place to monitor the annual capital cash spend against the Capital Program Budget
• Analyse information and discuss queries and under/over funding issues with relevant department, ensure applications for funds are requested where appropriate
• Complete the Trust's statutory Accounts and Charitable Funds Accounts in accordance with UKGAAP, IFRS and charity SORP and ensure that these accounts are accurate and are submitted in line with local and national timetables
• Monitor daily cash flow against expected income & expenditure and manage the working balances to resources are available to finance the business

In addition you will have the ability to; manage a diverse team, (including the ledger function), liaise with senior stakeholders and promote the finance function as a value adding service. Given the length of assignment this is a key management post within the Trust and they require candidates with not only the technical skills but the gravitas to help guide the trust through a challenging time.
