Are you a newly qualified Accountant/Senior Accountant who is looking to make the step up into a role within a Top 50 Accountancy practice in Central London?
A well respected and modern Top 50 Accountancy practice, based in the Central London is looking to recruit a Senior to join their dynamic Accounts Team.
You will support the Accounts Manager, acting as first point of contact for clients, with true job satisfaction, whilst working on a variety of exciting client sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the maintenance and review of accounting records raising issues to relevant Managers
- Review work diligently from junior team members and provide constructive feedback in a mentor like fashion
- Preparation of VAT returns and EC Sales Lists for manager review and client approval
- Ensure good relationships with both internal and external clients
- Liaising directly with clients in a timely and professional manner
- Assisting with management reporting and annual accounting compliance by preparing accounts and reports
- Solid technical, working knowledge on new UK GAAP (FRS 102)
- Delegates clear instructions, objectives and deadlines to junior team members
- Work effectively and efficiently on multiple jobs under time and budget constraints
- Assist with managing the expectations of partners and other key staff across the practice to ensure work and projects are completed within reasonable and realistic timeframes
- Correspond with clients to resolve any queries or issues
- Problem solving - Highlight any work or project delivery issues to partners and key staff
- Work closely with other teams within the firm to assist in ensuring seamless delivery of work
The successful applicant will be:
- 'Can do' attitude
- Prior experience within a practice
- Newly ICAEW or ACCA qualified
- Previous experience with software packages including Sage, Quickbooks and Caseware is a bonus
- Basic understanding of corporation tax is advantageous but not essential
- Exceptional, effective and appropriate communication skills both verbal and written
- Frequently seeks feedback on own performance, is able to respond positively to constructive criticism, pursues ways to develop own skills further and strives for additional responsibility
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times and remain mindful of sensitive issues
- Strong attention to detail
- A solid team player with a strong ability to work in a team environment as well as being a self-starter with the ability to work well using own initiative
- Demonstrates high levels of commitment and flexibility, actively offering assistance to other colleagues and takes ownership for own tasks assigned
- Strong ability to cope in a fast paced environment, taking responsibility for own workload and working closely with manager and wider team / firm to deliver quality work to agreed, often tight, deadlines and timescales
