Interim Head of Financial Accounting

Head of Financial Accounting - West Midlands area

An exciting 16 month fixed term contract/secondment opportunity has arisen to join a West Midlands based NHS Trust to provide leadership and direction within the Trust’s Financial Services Team.

The role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering all aspects of financial services and will be able to play a key role in supporting senior finance colleagues and leading the finance team on a day to day basis.

The post holder will be responsible for completing the Trust’s statutory Accounts and Charitable Funds Accounts in accordance with FRS 102, IFRS and charity SORP and ensure that these accounts are accurate and are submitted in line with local and national timetables and meet all legal requirements.

The post holder will also be responsible for the delivery, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and support the Deputy Director of Finance to comply with quarterly monitor submissions.

Requirements:

The successful applicant will be a CCAB qualified accountant, experienced in the NHS accounting environment with the ability to lead and advise on all technical accounting matters.

They must be up to date with the latest IFRS, FRS 102 and charity SORP 2015 and have a proven track record of working within a financial services team and preparing statutory accounts.

They will be a self-motivated, innovative manager looking for the opportunity to lead change and develop their own personal skills and experiences through this role.
