Financial Reporting Analyst

A great long term contract opportunity, to join a progressive and dynamic business, based in Hertford as inteirm Financial Reporting Analyst, in their Group Reporting team to provide high quality analysis, and reporting to the Group.

Our client, a market leader in its field, based in Hertford, are looking to recruit an interim Financial Reporting Analyst for a period of up to 18 months to support the preparation, development and analysis of financial and non-financial information. Providing high quality analysis to the Shared Services to support the businesses and facilitate business decisions and to track and monitor business benefits

In addition assisting the Group Reporting team where required, including the management reporting, budget and statutory accounts process, to enable accurate and timely reporting across the group

Financial Reporting Analyst Key Accountabilities:

  • Gather and bring together data across a number of systems, (both financial and non-financial,) in order to analyse the information, monitor variances, identify trends and recommend actions
  • Liaise with various departments, to extract the relevant information from their systems
  • Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data
  • Identify existing constraints in systems and devise solutions to provide the required reporting output
  • Support Shared Services to create, deliver and maintain reports as requested by the businesses
  • Provide information on key metrics to the bid teams
  • Develop regular performance reports for Shared Services
  • Preparation of the statutory accounts and maintain technical knowledge
  • Group consolidations, and reporting under GAAP and IFRS
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Ad hoc projects and analysis as required

Skills required:

  • Qualified accountant (preferably ACA)
  • Proven business analysis skills driving benefits
  • Proven business improvement / change record
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • High level of competence in Excel
  • Technical consolidation and group reporting skills and experience
  • Advanced level of knowledge of IFRS
  • Forecasting and budgeting expertise
  • This is a senior role and core skills in people management and demonstrable drive and initiative are required
  • Detail conscious
  • Project management skills and capabilities
