We have a new opportunity for a Financial Analyst at a very highly-regarded and progressive organisation based in Ipswich. Reporting to the Head of Financial Accounting, the Financial Analyst will play a key role in ensuring that accurate financial information is presented both internally and externally through the operation of robust controls and processes across the financial ledgers. The Financial Analyst will ensure that corporate and business strategies are supported by effective financial reporting and compliance by acting as a business partner and providing commercial support across the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Lead, develop and motivate a ledger team of four, through effective delegation, objective setting and bi-annual performance reviews to ensure robust financial controls and processes operate across the financial ledgers.
• Preparation of month end trial balance including reconciliation of all control accounts and review of ledger journals.
• Ensure that ledger accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with accounting policies to achieve compliance with financial standard and regulations.
• Act as Finance point of contact on all billing and transactional related queries, supporting Operations to ensure accurate billing and recording of transactions in the billing systems.
• Provide support to business units through analysis, interpretation and reporting of financial performance.
• Drafting of board reporting on capex, unbilled debt, billed debt and bad debt provisioning.
• Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT and annual Corporation Tax analysis ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
• Monthly review of Payroll ensuring accuracy of employee payments, monthly PAYE/NI liabilities and compliance with Payroll year end reporting requirements
• Regular review of processes for efficiencies and control improvements ensuring all process documentation is kept up to date
• Perform ad-hoc analysis for the Financial Accountant as and when required
