Cost Accountant

A long established manufacturing business in West Yorkshire are looking to recruit an experienced Cost Accountant into their team. With an annual turnover of £70m and a significant stock holding, the company is a well-respected leader in their industry.

Working alongside the Finance Director, the Cost Accountant is responsible for the following:


- Weekly Customer profitability models and weekly sales margin analysis.
- Distribute the month-end accounts pack.
- Month-end maintenance of raw material & finished goods standards on SAP.
- Price variance analysis.
- Transport reconciliation and analysis.
- Reconciliation of the Cost of Sales.
- Review of stock provisions for standard to actual & currency adjustments.
- Analysis of general ledger recharges and accruals
- Review of CAPEX spend and depreciation provision.
- Controlling the budget timetable.
- Preparation of debtors, fixed assets and stock schedules at year end
- Involvement in the internal & external audit of the stock takes.

Candidate profile:

- Ideally hold an appropriate professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, etc).
- Advance excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, etc).
- Solid experience of working to strict deadlines.
- Manufacturing background.
- Practical experience of standard costing.
- Flexible approach to working in order to meet deadlines and targets.
- Use of Microsoft Access databases.
- SAP experience ideally
