This is an incredible opportunity for a recently/fully qualified accountant who wants to demonstrate their business acumen to partner a group of small businesses within a growing portfolio of investments.  As Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for the full range of the accountancy function for our Foreign Exchange, Education and property businesses as well as completing financial due diligence on new investment opportunities, reporting into the Portfolio Manager.  The parent company is a global proprietary trading business and your initial training and support will be provided by their highly professional Finance team.

The Finance Business Partner role will initially be very hands on however the planned expansion of the group and the growing investment portfolio means that you will need to see the potential of not only joining this unique team of individuals but also willing to work towards developing your own team in the future.

the successful Finance Business Partner candidate will be a strong communicator with a diligent work ethic comfortable with a broad spectrum of responsibilities from completing business as usual, to due diligence and working closely with the company’s dynamic and respected C Suite.

Responsibilities:

  • Holistic accounting for 5-6 small businesses, including statutory and management accounts, CF balance sheet reconciliation, (excl. Payroll) month-end and year-end closing
  • Preparation of sales invoices and subsequent Sales Ledger processing
  • Responsible for the completion of VAT returns
  • Cooperation with the Parent Company Accounting department regarding group recharges and reconciliation of intercompany balances, as well as consolidation of group accounts
  • Presenting financial information to senior management including Group Chairman, CEO and CFO
  • Preparation of budget, forecasts and multi-year business plan process
  • Cooperation with investment committee and active involvement in designing the structure and accounting for the future investment vehicle (family office or investment fund)
  • Completion of financial due diligence process of potential investee companies

Skills and Qualifications

  • Recently/fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA)
  • Experienced management accountant
  • Experience with using Sage software (Sage X3 desirable but not essential)
  • Advanced user of MS Office package (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Business acumen and strong analytical skills
  • Team player and focused on achieving group goals
  • Self-starter with a high attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work within tight deadlines, strong focus on delivery
  • Strong organizational skills, able to multi-task with a varied workload of projects
  • Good communication skills and all levels
