Director of Finance & Resources
The Organisation
The UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) is the UK's national advisory body serving the interests of international students and those who work with them.
It is a well established and highly regarded organisation within the education sector, receives substantial grant funding from the British government and has been supporting international students, universities, colleges and students' unions for nearly 50 years. It has 17 staff currently based in Islington and almost 500 institutional members including all UK universities, many further education colleges and students' unions.
The Director of Finance & Resources Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive and managing a small team, this is a broad ranging role encompassing all aspects of finance, HR and facilities management. You will be responsible for providing essential financial stewardship to the organisation and for providing to the Chief Executive and Board specialist advice on all aspects of finance, investment and resources.
The role also includes management of HR, premises and facilities. You will be a key member of the four-person senior management team, act as Company Secretary and ensure compliance with legal requirements and good practice.
There are additionally some interesting projects to tackle in the short to medium term including a likely office move and new finance and CRM systems (and support to 50th Anniversary plans) and so considerable opportunity to make a major contribution to a number of important new initiatives.
Your Profile
The ideal candidate will be someone who is able to assume responsibility for the full scope of the role. You will be a qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience but you will also be someone who can take on the HR and facilities management responsibilities for UKCISA.
Previous experience within the not for profit sector is desirable and some knowledge and interest in the world of education is also beneficial. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to work effectively with the Chief Executive, the board, and stakeholders at all levels.
What you'll get in return
UKCISA offers an attractive benefits package including:
Salary of £57k - £62k, 18% employer’s contribution to pension scheme, holiday allowance of 25 days progressing to 30 days, flexible working, a healthy work life balance, and a professional working environment. Closing Date for applications – 31 July 2017
Interview Dates
First interview – 14 August 2017
Final interview – 18 August 2017
