Principle Accountant 

Your new company 
Mole Valley lies at the heart of Surrey, mid-way between London and the Sussex coast. It has a population of approximately 85,000 people. Dorking is an historic market town surrounded by the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It has excellent transport links into London and the south coast. The high street is filled with arts and crafts shops, boutiques, art galleries, jewellers, interiors and furnishing specialists sitting alongside eclectic vintage shops and fabulous antique centres.

Your new role 
The Principal Accountant will report to the Chief Accountant and be responsible for providing support within the Finance Team, dealing with the full range of corporate and management accountancy functions . This support will include financial systems, reconciliations, budgeting, closure and the production of year end accounts. In this role you will liaise with internal and external auditors and management. You will also maintain, develop and lead if required technical accounting issues as well as provide training and education in financial management, system processes and support to Corporate Heads of Service and Budget Managers. 

What you'll need to succeed 
You will be CCAB/CIMA Qualified ideally with local government finance experience and have excellent analytical skills to solve complex finance related problems as well as write related reports. Experience in financial and non-financial project skills is also needed. In person you will be accurate and methodical in your working practice, highly communicative and able to liaise with all staff. You will have energy and tenacity including the ability to work under pressure and possess sound IT skills. The need to be flexible in your working arrangements to support the finance team is important
