Your new company

Your new Chief Accountant role 
The Chief Accountant will report to the Financial Services Manager and be responsible for leading a finance team of 6 who will provide financial information relating to corporate finance issues including, accounts closure, IFRS, financial systems and controls, Treasury Management, VAT, financial projects, capital and asset accounting to business units. You will also lead the finance team through the completion of major tasks such as budget setting and budget monitoring as well as the annual production of the statutory Statement of Accounts for year-end. In this role you will have business relationships with finance and non-finance teams including key relationships with Business Managers.

What you'll need to succeed 
You will be CCAB/CIMA Qualified ideally with local government finance experience and knowledge of key accounting services such as capital accounting, treasury management, year- end processes and budgeting. Ability to lead and manage a team is a must and sound interpersonal skills are vital as you will be also liaising across the organisation and with external professional bodies. Energy, tenacity and ability to work under pressure and skilled in report writing is essential as well as expert knowledge of Excel and Word.
