SF Group are currently recruiting an Assistant Accountant for a company based in Central Derby for a company experiencing a period of growth. The role would be ideal for a part qualified accountant who is currently studying towards their ACCA/CIMA/ACA.
Major Responsibilities include:
- Prepare. analyse and report gross margins by produce and customer
- Report on break even points by product
- Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyse inventory evaluation
- Analyse cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories
- Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts
- Analysis of Standard Cost vs. Bills of Materials/Labour and advise changes to Logistics Department
- Review standard vs. actual cost for errors
- Validate cost of goods sold as part of month end closure
- Work with Operational Departments to locate, and dispose of obsolete inventory
- Work with projects, and new product development, as required
- Support and assist internal financial report requirements, audit schedules and others
- Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules for management
- He/she will work closely with the operational departments and a pro-active attitude of essences
- Prepare weekly KPI reports
- Assist in the preparation of budgets
Desired Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting/financial experience in a manufacturing background. CIMA or equivalent, qualified by experience (with good track record) is acceptable
- Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Cost Accounting Standards
- Must be highly adaptable to new computer programs (e.g. Movex, M3)
- Good Excel knowledge
- Ability to analyse, compile, research, and interpret data
- Good verbal and written communication skills, explain financial data to non-financial colleagues
- Flexible, team player
- Strong organisational skills and detail orientated
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Comfortable to work in office and factory environment
