Our client is a dynamic, multi-faceted Media & Technology business and, due to continued growth, a new role has been created within a prominent division. This is a key role within commercial finance, which entails leading a team of four with end to end responsibility for both content and product spend from long range planning through to balance sheet. It is important to identify a robust character who can not only operate at Board level but also demonstrate leadership whilst providing genuine commercial insight and guidance to senior stakeholders.
Key accountabilities include:
Primary finance lead on all major commercial negotiations, including the development and management of complex financial models designed to ensure the appropriate return on investment
Drive improvements in reporting and insight to help improve financial & operational performance to deliver on both short term targets and longer term strategic plans
Responsible for the financial appraisal of all major investments and interfacing with teams throughout the wider business
Significant exposure to senior management (CFO/COO/ED's) and deputising for the Finance Director when required
Development of long term plans, assembling sustainable divisional budgets and forecasts that meet the requirements of the Board and external stakeholders
Producing accurate and insightful reporting and analysis resulting in a clear understanding of divisional performance
Clearly articulate key focus areas within the division and demonstrate strong leadership to influence decision making - supplier negotiations in particular
Working proactively with the business to drive process improvements and promote best practice
Ensure that appropriate financial and commercial governance is adhered to
Drive improvements in reporting and insight in order to elevate financial/operational performance and thereby achieve short/long term objectives
Management of a team of 8
Working closely with divisional teams to optimise working capital levels
Create a high performing team environment that supports and challenges the business and enables both personal and organisational development
Build sound working relationships with all key stakeholders and become an integrated member of the team
The successful candidate will be a qualified Accountant with a first class academic record. The essential skills and experience required are excellent communication, high numeracy levels, strong financial/operational and commercial expertise gained from within customer orientated environments.
