Job Title: Group Management Accountant

Purpose of the role:

A wide and varied role the Group’s MA is a key member of the Group’s finance team and is responsible for providing financial oversight and support across the business, financial control of one of the Group’s subsidiaries and, in time, the Group’s Company Secretarial function.

Working closely with the Group CFO and Group FC the Group MA’s primary role will be to assist with the preparation of the Group’s monthly MI, assist with the annual statutory audit and budgeting process as well as providing technical accounting assistance to the Group FC and CFO.

In addition, they will take on the FC role of one of the Group’s subsidiaries. This has a functioning finance team but needs a part time (c 1 day a week) FC to sit above the team and work closely with the subsidiary’s MD to produce MI, budgets, forecasting and ensure appropriate controls and process are in place in the business.

Specific duties to include:

Working closely with the CFO, the Group FC and subsidiary business FC’s help prepare Group monthly financial reports, KPIs and analysis

Supporting the CFO and Group FC with ongoing development and maintenance of financial process, financial control, and maintenance of financial documents

Assist the CFO and Group FC with the preparation and maintenance of the cashflow information and forecasts

Work alongside the CFO and Group FC to improve and develop management information and reporting as and when required.

Work alongside the CFO and Group FC to prepare the annual budget.

Work alongside the CFO and the Group FC to prepare for the annual audit and preparation of the Group’s statutory accounts

Provide technical accounting analysis to points raised by the CFO and Group FC

Take ownership of subsidiary finance function on a part time FC basis. This will involve providing reporting MI to Group as well as budget, cashflow and audit information to Group. The individual will also work closely with the MD to provide analysis and financial information as require

Finally, they will ensure the finance department runs smoothly with the team maintaining appropriate book-keeping, processing of invoices, expenses, supplier payments and other company transactions records.

Skills and experience required:

A minimum of 5 years working in finance including 3 at least years PQE (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)

Technical understanding of IFRS and latest accounting developments

Strong IT / Software skills including Microsoft Office and SAGE ideally
