Elevation Accountancy & Finance currently have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic, recently qualified Financial Accountant for a successful service business in Sheffield.
The business is one of the largest employers in Sheffield, offering an environment that boasts state of the art facilities and market leading study packages. The successful Assistant Financial Accountant will have the chance to progress through the organisation due to the size and opportunities that can be made available.
This will be a varied position, working as part of the financial reporting team within a busy and large finance team. The role will assist in all aspects of the Financial Reporting function.
Duties & Responsibilities will include:
* Produce year end statutory accounts, liaise with auditors and ensure the accounts are signed by the deadline and in line with timetables agreed.
* Ensure that cash balances are monitored and regular cash flows prepared taking into account all known factors
* Produce quarterly reports and ad hoc reports and services
* Ensure that payments are properly controlled, promptly actioned and accurately accounted for
* Ensure that company procedures are adhered to at all times
* Liaise with clients, external and internal auditors and other professional advisers
* Process complaints at the earliest opportunity with a positive attitude
To be considered for this role you MUST have the following:
- Actively studying towards either CIMA or ACCA
- Experience of Accounting software packages
- Ideally experience from the accounting profession but industry experience will also be considered
- Able to sort, filter and organise data and produce easily readable spread sheets in Excel
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Able to identify important/urgent tasks and prioritise work in a consistent, organised and logical manner
- Able to work independently with little direction or as part of a team
You will be given the opportunity to grow with the business whilst being supported with good mentoring and the variety of skills required in order to become a fully qualified accountant. There is also the chance to progress into a more senior role in the future as the business will always look to promote people within.
