Salary: Circa £60,000 plus car and benefits

 

As part of an exciting and wide-ranging transformation programme, our client is looking to appoint into a number of key positions to support the future development of the business. As a key member of the Business Unit Senior Management Team, the Operations Finance Business Partner will be involved in decision making, strategic planning & development, and driving performance of the Business Unit. You will also be responsible for providing financial expertise (reporting, risk management, business systems, business processes, internal control) whilst acting as a conduit to professional expertise in legal, procurement, IT, compliance and commercial matters.

Detailed Job Description

The responsibilities include:

  • Influencing Business Unit strategy formulation, implementation and communication in line with the key Business Unit strategy and objectives
  • Involvement in key commercial decision making and key contract and client negotiations
  • A sounding board, trusted adviser and facilitator of productive Business Unit decisions, supporting Operational and Commercial management
  • Actively involved in identifying and assessing key business unit risks and opportunities, conducting sensitivity analysis and effective change management
  • Providing timely, accurate financial analysis and management information to monitor performance and support decision making in the business area
  • Providing support to the business management team to identify, monitor and manage financial, legal and commercial risks and opportunities in the business area
  • Shared accountability with Commercial and Operational leads for the overall budgeting and forecasting process for the Business Unit – from micro-project reviews to consolidated business unit presentation to the Executive Leadership Team
  • Supporting the business area in the preparation, review, submission and presentation of business cases to support capital investment and key bids
  • Understanding and minimising the working capital requirements of the business area by co-ordinating project cash flow forecasts and carrying out monthly debt and WIP reviews and influencing payment terms in contracts / bids
  • Supporting ad hoc projects and transformation initiatives as required

Candidate's Profile

We are looking for an exceptional individual who has held a senior finance business partnering role within a complex organisation. You will be a strong communicator and influencer, with the credibility and gravitas to be able to positively influence management decisions. Experience of change management and financial risk management in a risk management environment is preferred; an accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) is essential.
