Internal Audit Manager

The Opportunity

Macildowie are working with an industry leading retail business based in Leicester assisting in their search to recruit a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) with significant post qualification experience to become their Internal Audit Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for either a candidate with existing experience in industry as an Internal Auditor/Manager looking for that next career step, or a talented and ambitious chartered or certified accountant (likely from a Top 10 firm) looking for their first move out of practice and into industry.

The Exposure

This is much more than your typical internal audit role; you will be fully immersed into the business providing key support and guidance, the focus is much more operational and proactive, particularly around the management of risk

You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and prior examples of working with / building relationships with a variety of challenging stakeholders including director and exec level management. You'll have the opportunity to truly add value, taking the lead on the implementation of numerous business improvements that will impact cost saving and operational initiatives.

You will be responsible for the management and development of a team of 10, and the planning, execution and reviewing of all audit assignments. You will need to be comfortable managing the team and communicating with several exec level stakeholders in this high profile Internal Audit Manager role.
