Part Time Accountant

Part Time opportunity working 2 - 3 days a week for an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant in Stockport.

Your new firm
An independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Stockport Town Centre are looking to appoint a Senior Accountant on a part time basis. This is a two partner general practice that employ around 12 staff and are based in the town centre with parking and close to public transport links. This role has arisen due to the continued growth of the firm and new client wins which has created the need for an extra qualified accountant to join the team.

Your new role
As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients which will include some sole traders and partnerships but mainly small and medium sized limited companies. With this portfolio you will be responsible for preparing and submitting year end financial statements, producing tax computations and some management accounts and cashflow forecasting work. You will also have responsibility for a junior member of staff within the team who will prepare some of the smaller accounts jobs and underake bookkeeping and quarterly VAT work. This role will be undertaken either on a 2 or 3 day working week.

What you'll need to succeed
The partners are looking to appoint an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant who has gained a number of years post qualified experience working within the accountancy profession. As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for liaising with clients on a regular basis so good communications are key. You will be seeking part time hours and be able to commit to working either a 2 or 3 day working week of 9am - 6pm with an hour for lunch.
