This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market leader, who operate within the Energy and Natural Resources space, as a Group Accountant.

This is a newly created role that is broad and varied, it reports into the Group FC and works closely with the international divisional finance teams.

The role is wide ranging across the finance functions (external & internal reporting, statutory & management reporting, financial systems, processes & controls, treasury, financial planning & analysis and tax).

This position will cover a number of responsibilities which include:

  • Accurate and timely preparation of the Group's consolidation in line with IFRS and shareholder reporting requirements.
  • Preparation of the Group's quarterly and annual external reporting obligations - Annual Audited Financial Statements, Quarterly Financial Reporting & Quarterly Management Statements.
  • Preparation of the Group's budgets, forecasts and cash flows.
  • Work with the divisional finance teams to prepare analysis of Group results.
  • Support the Group FC and Group CFO in developing and producing monthly management reporting.
  • Support the FC in dealing with ad-hoc Group accounting issues.
  • Management of intercompany balances.
  • Assist in preparation and submission of UK statutory accounts and tax returns.
  • Support the Group FC in implementing and embedding a new SAP finance system.
  • Support the Group FC in maintenance of the Group's chart of accounts and Group accounting policies.
  • Review divisional reporting for accuracy and to ensure reporting is in accordance with IFRS and in compliance with Group accounting policies and practices.
  • Assist the Group FC in reviewing and overseeing the internal control environment across the group to prevent and detect errors and frauds.
  • Liaise with external auditors and divisional finance teams to prepare audit deliverables, ensuring compliance with the agreed audit timetable and managing audit costs.
  • Assistance with Group cash reporting, bank transaction execution and Group banking arrangements.
  • Ad-hoc financial support for M&A and new deals.
