The Company
Brewster Pratap are recruiting for a large service business based in Doncaster. Due to a large investment programme they have a newly created vacancy for a Project Accountant
The Job
This job will report to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis and will have responsibility for supporting all aspects of project accounting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis and maintaining relationships with both the projects and the finance team
Track project spending against budget and reporting variances
Forecast /reforecast total project costs ensuring any anticipated overspends are identified and communicated to stakeholders
Proactively identify areas of weakness and design implementing appropriate controls to address them
Quantify and monitor project benefits providing detailed reporting of these benefits
Interrogate and challenge cost benefit analysis ensuring key assumptions are documented and supported appropriately
Help to develop reporting in line with the needs of the business
Give training to the projects team on all aspects of accounting
Produce detailed reporting to track actual forecast project spend versus budget
Support the finance team with ad hoc and monthly activities
The Person
Qualified Accountant with a pro active approach and strong accounting background. You will have strong attention to detail, good time management experience and be able to work well under pressure. You will also need a strong character and be able to interact with non financial staff
