Financial Accountant

My client, a large, fast paced organisation based in Kings Hill, requires a fully qualified accountant to join them for a period of 12 months to cover maternity leave.

The purpose of this role is to ensure that the financial books of accounts reflect a complete and reconciled record of the activities of the companies in order to underpin management analysis and action, and ensure a timely and satisfactory audit of the books and records of the group companies.

Key accountabilities:
.Assist the Finance Manager with the preparation the monthly consolidated management accounts for the group including the consolidation of overseas entities and reporting to the parent company
.Ensure reconciliations are prepared and maintained for all balance sheet nominal accounts and key P&L accounts to ensure the accuracy of the monthly accounts process
.Prepare and assist the Finance Manager as required in the preparation or formal annual and periodic statutory accounts for the group companies

Audit
.Maintain files and working papers to support the periodic audit requirements of external audits and reviews
.Liaise with external auditors or reviewers as required to ensure the efficient and timely completion of their reviews
.Be responsible for quarterly Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) audit testing ensuring the group remains compliant and operates to its set policies and procedures

It is essential that you have recent experience in the preparation of formal statutory accounts and possess a full accounting qualification
.Previous experience with the Sun accounting system (version 6) would be desirable and previous experience of working in a SOX environment would be helpful
